These blood splatter nails are my absolute favorite manicure to rock during the month of October. With only a few materials, you'll be well on your way to sporting festive nails. :)
Materials:
- White, red, and clear nail polish
- A straw
- Vaseline or lotion
- Paper towel
- Disposable plate
Step 1:
Paint your nails with 2-3 coats of white. Let dry.
Step 2:
Apply Vaseline to the skin surrounding your fingernail, but not on the nail itself. Make sure to get your fingertips as well as the length of your finger. This step makes clean up a breeze.
Step 3:
Pour some red nail polish onto a disposable plate. (Fingernail polish degrades Styrofoam, so if you choose to use it, make sure it is double plated with a paper towel underneath)
Step 4:
Dip the straw into the paint and swirl it around. Making sure to get a good bit of paint into the shaft. Blow through the straw at your nail to force the paint out in a splatter fashion. Every time you blow through the straw, you will need to reload it with paint. Do this once or twice to every nail depending upon your taste. Let dry.
Step 4:
Wipe the excess paint and Vaseline off of your skin using a paper towel. Use fingernail polish remover and a q-tip if some of it is not coming off.
Step 5:
Clear and enjoy!
